What's Tokyo Zakka?

Who Are We?

In Japanese a 'Zakka-ya' is something like an old-style general store. We liked the sound of that, so pinched part of the name for our slightly more-modern online gear shop.

The store is a spin-off from the main Digital World Tokyo website, which has being shipping silly Japanese gadgets since 2005 to thousands of satisfied customers all over the world.

We pride ourselves on providing a personal service - we respond to every single order in person and even hand write the addresses on your packages just so we can avoid the shipping errors common to some online stores.

Only the best for our pals! (That’s you, BTW…)

Our Promise

We guarantee to process your order in a timely fashion, but if there’s a problem of any kind with our suppliers we’ll tell you and give you the option to cancel or change the order.

Equally, once you receive your gear we know you’ll be happy but if there’s a problem we promise to refund or replace the item if it’s defective. Also, please don't send anything back without talking to us first.

If you’re asking, we’re happy to tell you that not one customer has ever taken us up on a refund - we choose our quality products carefully and work hard to replace any with which there is a rare manufacturing problem.

Shipping and Payment

Generally, we ship globally using the reliable and insured Japanese EMS Postal Service. It usually takes anywhere between one and two weeks to the US or Europe and 7-10 days to other Asian countries.

Some smaller products are best sent by regular mail to keep costs down - we’ll tell you if that’s the case.

Most importantly (we think), we don’t inflate the cost of shipping in any way - you pay cost price for each product, wherever you are. It’s a flat rate per item to all countries we serve outside Japan, but if we find any discrepancy we’ll make the adjustment for you.

To all of you, from all of us at Tokyo Zakka! - Thank you and Happy Shopping!
